National Advocacy Day

Every day in Washington, DC, decisions are made on various requirements, such as regulatory and payment policy, that impact your ASC. When you attend ASCA 2017 in Washington, DC, take the opportunity to meet with your representative face-to-face on Capitol Hill and make your voice heard for National Advocacy Day.

ASCA’s National Advocacy Day brings together ASC community members from across the country with the goal of furthering Congress’s support for the industry and, this year, it is being held in conjunction with ASCA 2017. Don’t miss this chance to share your concerns and educate your member of Congress on the issues that are important to your facility.

Attendees may register to attend Congressional meetings on either the afternoon of Wednesday, May 3rd or the morning of Thursday, May 4th. The cutoff for registration or any changes is Friday, April 7th. Your day on Capitol Hill is carefully coordinated; any changes after April 14th will not allow ASCA staff the time needed to prepare your schedule of Congressional meetings.

Transportation to and from Capitol Hill will be provided. *All individuals attending National Advocacy Day on Wednesday will be back at the National Gaylord Resort before the Welcome Reception.

If you would like to participate in National Advocacy Day but it conflicts with an educational session you’d like to attend, ASCA will provide you with the opportunity to receive continuing education credits after ASCA 2017 through a recording of the session. Continuing education credits must be submitted by June 30, 2017. Limit to one qualifying continuing education session per time block.

To ensure you are confident and prepared for your Congressional meetings, ASCA will host a one hour briefing to prepare you for your meetings with members of Congress and their staff. This briefing is eligible for CEUs. In addition, we will provide you with briefing materials, a map of Capitol Hill and talking points to use during the day.

In addition, a training webinar will be available on Tuesday, April 18th at 2:00pm EST.
