Description: Consider the many benefits accreditation offers your ASC and get real-world advice on how to achieve and maintain it. Discuss essential components of accreditation, including continuous quality improvement, patient and employee safety, and infection prevention and control. Look closely at the steps your ASC needs to take to make sure it measures up, and learn how to avoid the top ten deficiencies found during recent accreditation surveys.

Description: Review the process for successfully completing a Joint Commission accreditation survey, including preparing for the survey, participating in on-site survey activities and following up after the on-site survey visit. A question and answer segment will focus on participants’ key concerns and questions that can arise during the Joint Commission accreditation process.

Content Area: Regulatory and Legal Issues
Description: Join two nationally recognized Life Safety Code experts for a comprehensive two-part program that will give you an in-depth understanding of the current Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service (CMS) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations governing all ASC physical environments and the organization and processes needed to meet the operational requirements for risk assessments, inspection, testing and maintenance.
Part I, held Wednesday morning, focuses on key changes in the NFPA codes and sections, training and documentation requirements, and construction and operational considerations surrounding construction type, fire protection, vertical openings, egress, hazardous areas, risk assessments, medical gases and more.
Other aspects of the new requirements will be covered during Part II, the afternoon workshop.
Note: This is Part I of a two-part program. Separate registration is required for Part II.

Discounts
Multi-Attendee Discount: ASCA’s facility members who send more than one employee can enjoy additional savings by clicking on the "Register Group" button. Pay full price for the first registrant and $100 less for the second or more. This discount only applies to ASCA facility members, and to be eligible for the discount, all registrants must be employed by the same ASC. All registrations must be received at the same time, received from the same address and covered under one payment.
Corporate Member Discounts: ASCA’s corporate members are eligible for a $150 per person discounted fee on group registrations of at least ten people, as well as a 10% discount on all pre-meeting workshop fees. Please note that all other fees (guest registrations, additional tickets to food functions, etc.) are not discounted and must be registered for separately by the attendee. The registration deadline to receive these discounts is December 31, 2017. If you have any questions, please email Liz Perkins at lperkins@ascassociation.org.
Member Discounts: ASCA members can take advantage of the lowest registration fees available. If your facility is not currently a member but would like to join to take advantage of the reduced fees, please contact ASCA's Membership Department.

Family-Guest Policy
Family-Guest registration is reserved for family members of the full conference registrant who are not involved in the health care industry in any way. Family-Guests cannot attend educational sessions and are ineligible to receive continuing education credits. This fee allows the family member access to the Exhibit Hall, including Wednesday and Thursday night receptions, wellness events, continental breakfasts, lunch on Thursday and Friday’s Celebration Luncheon as well as the Social Event. ASCA reserves the right to review the registrations of all family-guests for eligibility. Any registrant that falls outside of our policy will have to either register under the appropriate rate or will be refunded.

Syllabus
In our continuing efforts to be environmentally friendly, we are providing conference attendees with a digital copy of the syllabus. Please remember that you will have the opportunity to view, download and print the handouts before and after the meeting since they will be made available on the ASCA 2018 Mobile App. Presentations will also be available in the Resource Library in the ASCA 2018 Community on ASCA Connect.

Substitutions
Can’t attend? Someone from your facility can come in your place. Substitutions can be made through February 23 for an administrative fee of $25. After that date, a $50 administrative fee will be charged. All requests must be made in writing and sent via email without payment to the Meetings Department: registration@ascassociation.org. Once received, the substitution will be made and a balance will be generated. Payment information can be provided over the phone at 703.836.5904

Cancellations
All cancellation requests must be submitted via the Online Cancellation Form.
Through December 31, refunds are given minus a $50 administrative fee. From January 1 through February 28, refunds will be given minus a $150 administrative fee. No refunds will be given after February 28. If you registered as part of a group with the multi-attendee discount, the refund will be made on the lowest registration fee paid minus the administrative fee. If the entire group must cancel, one cancellation request per person is required.
Please note: No refunds are issued for the following items: pre-meeting workshops or additional tickets purchased for the luncheon and social event.

Viewing/Adding/Changing Existing Registration
Online: If you would like to view your registration, print a receipt, add a guest, workshop, or buy additional tickets to the Social Event or Celebration Luncheon, you can do this online. Just log in to ASCA Connect using your email address and last name (case-sensitive; use upper-case first letter). Choose "My Profile" at the top of the page, then click the pencil button next to "Contact Details" under your profile picture, then "My Transactions." Next to ASCA 2018, click "View/Edit” and then choose the "Edit Badge," "Add Workshops and Tours," “View/Print Receipt” or the “Add Guest” option.

Financial Aid
Seed Money for Growth (SMFG) Foundation Grants Available
A limited amount of funding is available through the SMFG Foundation for employees of freestanding ASCs who wish to attend ASCA 2018. The funding is intended to supplement assistance already approved by an employee’s organization. For example, SMFG would consider approval of partial registration fees if transportation and/or lodging are already available to the employee.

Wellness Events
NEW! Bootcamp: This year, ASCA has added a dynamic Bootcamp workout that will get your body moving and energized prior to the first Friday morning session. ASCA's Bootcamp is for all ages and fitness levels! This 60 minute session will begin April 13 at 6:30 am.
Pedometer Challenge: Keep on walking! The average conference-goer takes more than 8,200 steps per day while attending sessions, walking the exhibit hall, networking and socializing. Make every step count by wearing your free ASCA 2018 pedometer.
