Does anyone know if these are considered as an implant and can be billed as such?

Myringtomy tubes are not considered implants you can't bill separate for them nor do you need to keep an implant log. Document on the surgical record the information.

I Have worked in many settings where we placed myringotomy tubes and they are NOT considered an implant. they tend to fall out, or are removed after a time.I have always just documented the placement as a part of the procedure.
