We started our BMI at 40. When we added CRNA's the anesthesia group already had a policy in place for BMI's up to 50. Since then we have compromised. All patients are asked their weight, anyone >45 BMI triggers an office visit and airway assessment. At that time it is decided whether they will be an ASC case or a hospital case.
