ASCA submitted the attached comments regarding the development of a novel patient-reported outcome-based performance measure (PRO-PM). The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has contracted with Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation – Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) to develop a measure “focusing on patient receipt of key information related to recovery from an outpatient surgery or procedure.” As part of the measure development process, the measure developer requested feedback from stakeholders during a 30-day comment period that ended on Monday, April 11.
