The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHA) earlier this week responded to the petition from the Nevada Hospital Association (NHA) to make changes to ASC regulations that would preclude surgeries that Medicare has designated as inpatient-only for its beneficiaries from being performed on any patients in ASCs. The NHA had recommended that the Nevada Board of Health use the Medicare Proposed HCPCS Codes That Would Be Paid Only as Inpatient Procedures for CY 2014 as the list of procedures excluded from the ASC setting. The DHHS denied this request.
